Waste Transportation and Disposal

NORM Services is the recognized leader in the regulatory-compliant packaging, transportation and disposal of hazardous and radioactive wastes. All work is performed in compliance with the requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Transportation. NORM Services utilizes all of the licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal facilities within the United States that are authorized to legally accept RCRA, NORM and TENORM wastes. The packaging, transportation method and disposal of wastes are dependent upon the constituents of the wastes and the regulatory status of the generation facilities.
NORM Services makes every effort to minimize wastes and decontaminate equipment, if feasible, to reduce costs and limit the wastes that must be sent to a disposal facility. All personnel and equipment related to the licensee’s activities leaving the contaminated area of a facility is thoroughly surveyed for contamination. NORM Services assures that all personnel and equipment meet department approved unrestricted release criteria for levels of contamination prior to being released from the area. Surveys for the release of equipment are documented which identifies, at a minimum, the released equipment, survey instrument used, the survey results, background at the time of the survey, and the name and initials of the surveyor. NORM Services assures that samples collected for radiological analysis and characterization of contaminants are analyzed at a licensed laboratory
